LSAMP REU Application 2017

The Office of Graduate Education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites underrepresented* minority undergraduate students who are rising juniors or rising seniors in the STEM fields to conduct research with Rensselaer faculty for eight weeks during the summer of 2017 from June 11th through August 5th. This program is designed to help curious and solution-oriented students gain confidence in the lab, develop enthusiasm for graduate school, cultivate a professional network, and earn attractive qualifications. This year's program will offer positions in the School of Science in three key research areas: Biotechnology and Life Sciences; Biochemistry and Biophysics; and Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The program will also offer positions in the School of Engineering in four key research areas: Energy, Environment and Smart Systems; Biotechnology and Life Sciences; Computational Science and Engineering; and Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials.

- Personal Statement (One page describing your interest in pursing a graduate degree in a STEM field)

- Transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine)

- Resume

- One recommendation letter is to be submitted on your behalf. This letter must be an academic reference from a faculty member at your current institution. Reference writers should email the recommendation letter to the Graduate Admissions Office. Recommendation letters must be submitted by the March 1st deadline to consider an application complete. The subject line of the email should read: LSAMP Recommendation - Student's Name.
